What did you do this summer? This summer I travelled throughout Italy as I was on exchange in Verona, Italy since February of this year. I had an unbelievable opportunity to experience the Italian culture, visit historic monuments and family, travel throughout Europe, eat delicious food, and befriended amazing people, whom I still keep in contact with today.
What kinds of extracurricular activities are you involved with? I am on the student Italian club at Western: CIAO and I dance on Dance Force, I volunteer at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, I play intramural flag-football, and I work as a Research Analyst.
What is your fav HS course or prof and why? My previous Professor, Dr. Anne Snowdon. She instilled fundamental knowledge of value-driven care and needs for patients and delivered the information in a unique way. As a class, we were able to meet business professionals in the healthcare field, which opened doors for networking opportunities.
What are your future career plans? Where do you see yourself in five/ten/twenty years?
I am pursuing a career in business aspect of healthcare: sales, marketing, consulting, and I am keeping my options open.
Do you have any advice for other Health Studies Students? Be open-minded and always network! As you progress throughout your degree, you acquire more knowledge in the field AND other careers available. You never know who can help you or provide insightful advice so always seek mentorship!
